Primavera seeks to support a renewal of culture through a renaissance of Fine Theological Art. To fulfill this mission, Primavera commissions pieces of fine art with the intention of offering the public opportunities to view the art, and in this way, renew appreciation for the beauty it expresses. This tour possesses the primary goal of exposing as many people as possible to the monumental work of Our Lady of Light and thus continues the rich Catholic tradition of supporting the arts.

The original painting, Our Lady of Light, by Natalia Tsarkova, will travel throughout various cities in the US and around the world. The painting will be in cathedrals, basilicas, museums, universities, and libraries.

The of Unveiling of “Our Lady of Light” in the U.S Capitol

Our Lady of Light was unveiled for the first time in the United States Capitol, Washington, DC on 19 May, 2005. This tribute to Pope John Paul II was in the spirit of a Senate Resolution honoring Pope John Paul II, who passed away on 8 April, 2005. Senators Sam Brownback and Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs Jim Nicholson were on hand to unveil the painting. They were joined by Senator Rick Santorum and Congressman Mike Ferguson to honor the late Pope and to support the mission and work of the Primavera Fine Art Foundation.

Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) stood before the painting and addressed the crowd, saying, “This (Primavera) is an answer to prayer.” Brownback said he has been praying “that art would come back that presents the truth and presents it grandly” and added that the art world was in need of “wonderful, lasting art that appeals to the eye and to the soul.”

Exhibition at the Dallas Museum

The Dallas Women’s Museum, located within the Texas State Fair Grounds, had Our Lady of Light on display as part of their exhibition for the 2005 Texas State Fair, which draws hundreds of thousands of people over a five week period. As this exhibition took place immediately following hurricane Katrina, Our Lady of Light was an inspiration for many people who had been displaced.

Our Lady of Light is currently scheduled to travel to other parts of the U.S. to be viewed as the masterpiece of theological art that it is and to inspire everyone who views it. Private viewing opportunities can be arranged.

Limited edition reproductions are enriching the lives of viewers in the following locations world wide: The Pontifical Institute Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center in Jerusalem, Israel; The University of Sacramento in Sacramento, California; Mater Ecclesiae College and Formation Center for Consecrated Women in Wakefield, RI; Sacred Heart Apostolic School in Rolling Prairie, Indiana.
